Paving begins July 16th
The paving operation is to start tomorrow/Friday morning (July 16th). Please see the color coded/highlighted map that was previously posted for the day that your road will be paved. [*posted again below for reference]. However if it rains on Friday, we will be delayed a day and will follow up with an additional post so please check back on the website for updates.
Your vehicles needed to be removed from your driveway by 6:30 AM (on July 16th) or else you will not be able to get out until Saturday morning, July 17th.
The contractor will be providing transportation via golf cart to the elementary school parking lot. The GOLF CART request number is 248.638.3190
If you do park on the side of the road, a street that is not being paved, which is not recommended, please park way off the road and not within 300' of an intersection. There will be lots of large trucks and they need room to navigate the narrow roadways and be able to back up, etc. The more room we have, the easier it is for us to work and the quicker we can get the road paved which means less inconvenience for you as residents. This also eliminates the possibility of your vehicle being hit by equipment and trucks or other residents' vehicles.
The roads being paved on Friday will be reopened on late Friday evening or Saturday morning depending on weather temperatures, production, etc. We will place caution tape and cones across the roads to close them, and will remove these items when the roads have cooled enough to traverse them.
Please do not allow children, pets, nor yourself to walk on the new HMA until we have opened the roads for vehicular use. The HMA is placed at 400 degrees and is sticky which will quickly burn bare feet and animals’ paws and will also melt shoe soles.
Please use extreme caution when driving through the subdivision during the all construction operations. Yesterday I witnessed multiple residents driving at excessive speeds throughout the subdivision. Please be mindful this is a Construction Zone and the people working have families/children that they want to see at the end of the work day.
Please encourage your neighbors and friends to follow this website and the posts. I have spoken to numerous residents over the past couple of days and many were not aware of this website. This is a great way to stay in the know, especially with the paving operations starting and continuing throughout the remainder of the project/construction. There will be many road closures, overnight, coming in the near future.
When you receive notice that your road will be closed and you will not have vehicular access to your driveway; this is a good time to get shopping done, go to appointments, etc... ahead of the road closures.
*IMPORTANT NOTE:
EMERGENCY VEHICLES WILL have access at all times and at any detriment to the paving operation. Someone's life/dwelling is considerably more important than any road; we can always fix the road!
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as work continues to provide you beautiful new roads throughout the subdivision.
Thank You, have a good rest of your day and week.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
